What it contains
Per the collation register:
- The "three essentials" 三要: gate 門, master 主, stove 灶.
- The East-four and West-four dwellings 東西四宅.
- Matching the nine stars to rooms 九星配房.
Attribution note
Unlike several Eight Mansions titles, this one carries no attribution scandal: the register names the author cleanly, and the same print tradition binds it to his 地理五訣 — a pairing that already tells you the house system and the graveyard system in this lineage were one author's twin projects.
Where it sits in the tradition
Matrix row: Eight Mansions 八宅 main body ◎, Form 形巒 partial ○. It is one of the pillar texts of the Eight Mansions line alongside the 八宅明鏡 — and, notably, one of the two sources our engine's Eight Mansions module must reconcile. The verse-method versus yao-transformation derivations of the star allocation do not fully agree; the disagreement is open and both figures are shown in dispute entry D-04 of the School Dispute Register.
